For their creative showcase, participating students were mentored by the WWI School of Fashion & Costume Design’s HOD Jewellyn Alvares, the institute announced in a press release. The eclectic presentation explored the themes of ‘Channelling 1970s Vibes’, which saw denim mixed with ditsy florals; ‘Agaami’, inspired by the festive season; ‘Nyx’, inspired by the goddess of darkness; ‘Tapestry and Weaving’ to celebrate India’s weavers; and ‘Imperium’, which explored the cycle of death and rebirth.

“WWI has always been a beacon of creative excellence, and the talent showcased at BTFW 2023 by our students is a testament to our commitment to nurturing the future leaders of the fashion industry,” said WWI president Meghna Ghai Puri in a press release.

Bombay Times Fashion Week is an initiative of the Times Group, which holds fashion weeks in multiple Indian cities. The event ran from October 27 to 29 in Mumbai.

“I was both honoured and thrilled to walk the runway for WWI School of Fashion & Costume Design at Bombay Times Fashion Week ’23,” said actor and WWI alumna Aahana Kumra. “It’s a privilege I gladly embraced for my alma mater. The professionalism and quality showcased by the students were outstanding, setting a high standard in the global fashion landscape. This, without a doubt, ranks among my best experiences.”
