(15/11/23) Chinmai Sharma has only been with Sabre for just
over two months, but with more that two decades of travel industry
experience under his belt was more than ready to help promote the
company’s solutions at the recent World Travel Market in London
(WTMLDN).

During the annual B2B travel trade show at ExCel, Steven
Howard of Travel News Asia sat down with Chinmai to learn more about his role as
Global Head of Lodging, Ground & Sea at Sabre Travel Solutions.
In this interview, filmed on 6 November, Chinmai
explains what his job entails, what the different segments include,
and how he plans to manage such a large and rapidly growing portfolio of products.
Steven asks about the lodging solution and whether
with so much difference between the quality of hotels and related
services in South East Asia and elsewhere in the world, as well as
the massive improvement in recent years of mid-market and budget
hotels on basics such as quality mattresses, power showers and
sound-proofing, whether the old star system needs to be completely revamped.
We discuss how Sabre Travel Solutions is using AI
to improve the services it provides, what his thoughts are on the
dangers associated with such powerful technology and how he sees
the travel sector taking advantage of it.
