The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Monday invited applications for one post for members of the Senior Cricket Team Selection Committee. BCCI has given its information on its website. In this application, it has not been mentioned who will replace the five presidential staff of Ajit Agarkar. The last date of application is 25 January.

As per BCCI rules, the board chooses a selector from each zone (East, West North, South and Central), with the most experienced member being made the chairman, who still happens to be Ajit Agarkar. The combined tenure of any selector cannot exceed five years (including junior and senior panels).

Chetan Sharma was removed from the post in February 2023 after a sting operation. After this, in July, Agarkar was included in the post of President from West Zone. Auchat Agarkar and Salil Ankola (West), S Sharath (South), SS Das (East) and Subroto Banerjee (Central) are present in the selection committee. It is possible that anyone can be kept in the BCCI committee.
