(08/03/24) United Airlines has confirmed that it will
launch flights to Cebu, Philippines via Tokyo Narita as well as
expand its global route network by adding non-stop flights between
New York/Newark-Marrakesh, Morocco
and Houston-Medellin, Colombia.
The airline will also increase flights to Hong Kong; Seoul, South
Korea; Porto, Portugal; and add four weekly flights between Los
Angeles and Shanghai, China.
The new year-round,
non-stop service to Cebu via Tokyo Narita is scheduled to take off
on 31 July 2024. United will
be the only U.S. carrier to fly to Cebu with daily flights using
Boeing
737-800 aircraft, which will connect with
United’s flights from San Francisco, Los Angeles, Denver,
Newark-New York and Houston to Tokyo-Narita. United also offers daily flights between San Francisco and Manila, and flies
to Manila from Guam and Palau.
The airline is continuing to rebuild its mainland
China schedule, with four weekly flights between Shanghai-Los
Angeles on a Boeing 787-9, starting 29 August. In late October,
Shanghai-Los Angeles will increase to a daily service
complementing United’s daily service between San
Francisco-Shanghai and San Francisco-Beijing.

26 October, complementing its two
existing daily flights to Hong Kong from San Francisco.
The
airline will also offer year-round, twice daily flights between
San Francisco-Seoul, starting 25 October.
Additionally, United
recently expanded its Tokyo service with a new route between
Haneda and Guam, launching in May.
Across the Atlantic,
United will add a second daily flight between New
York/Newark-Porto, Portugal on a Boeing 757-200, starting 23 May.
The thrice weekly New York/Newark-Marrakesh,
Morocco service will take off on 24 October using Boeing 767-300ER aircraft,
equipped with 46 United Polaris business class and 22 United
Premium Plus seats. This new service further expands United’s
presence in Africa, building on the airline’s existing services to
Accra, Ghana; Lagos, Nigeria; and Cape Town and Johannesburg,
South Africa.
United will also launch non-stop flights to Medellin,
Colombia with daily service from Houston using Boeing 737 aircraft,
beginning 27 October. This new route expands United’s presence in
Colombia, complementing existing services from Houston and Newark
to Bogota.
