Mumbai-based fine jewellery brand Studio Renn will make its retail debut in the Middle East this October by participating in auction house Sotheby’s upcoming “Modern & Contemporary Jewelry Series’. The showcase will run from October 2 to 27 in Dubai, both on-site and online. 

Studio Renn will present 50 designs from its ‘[Prime]al’ collection including rings, bracelets, and earrings at the Sotheby’s showcase. The Sotheby’s Dubai gallery is located in the Dubai International Financial Centre and holds year-round art, jewellery, and collectibles events, according to its website. 
 
“[Prime]al is an ambitious effort at the studio to create a distinctive contemporary aesthetic– one that is our own,” said Studio Renn’s co-founder and creative director Rahul Jhaveri about the collection, the Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council reported on its website. “It started with a study of indigenous art– not what they made, but why and how. We attempted to follow the same creative process of abstraction while creating these works.”

Rahul and Roshni Jhaveri launched Studio Renn in 2018. With its name ‘Renn’ meaning ‘rebirth’, the brand aims to use the medium of fine jewellery to explore concepts, feelings, and abstract ideas. 
 
“Studio Renn is at the forefront of creativity and boundary-pushing– both in terms of their techniques and their materials,” said Sotheby’s senior vice president of luxury sales Paul Redmayne, the GJEPC reported. “As a huge fan, I’m both honoured and excited to be bringing Studio Renn to Sotheby’s Dubai.”
