(13/11/23) APG World Connect is one of the most exclusive
and glamorous annual airline conferences in the world.
What makes this event standout from others is that
APG limits attendance to around 480 delegates, comprising
of carefully selected airline
CEOs, Presidents and other senior management, as well as VIPs from related companies
and APG
offices from all around the globe.
The 14th APG World Connect took place in Monaco,
France from 1-3 November 2023, and every guest staying at the Fairmont
Monte Carlo was involved with the conference, an important fact
that does away with awkward logistics such as transport and helps
glue the entire event together.

As those
attending are not only senior decision makers but also passionate
about the industry in which they work, there is a common bond that
makes the entire event feel more like a family gathering, rather
than just another conference.
In addition to providing
valuable networking opportunities, topics discussed during the
conference included: Geopolitics – how civil aviation is more than
a form of transport for many countries; Trains, planes,
automobiles and airports – aviation at the evolution of intermodal
transport; How to coordinate effective global lobbying for the air
transport industry; What are the new challenges and opportunities
in air cargo?; What does flying look like in the future?; and will
new technologies deeply change air transport?.
In addition to the serious side of the conference,
there was a lavish party on the first night and a black tie gala
dinner on the second, with delegates spoiled throughout their
entire stay with delicious 5-star French cuisine, sparkling
Taittinger Champagne and delightful Lampe de Meduse Cotes de
Provence wines, amongst many other delectable treats.
To add even more glamour to the gathering, many delegates flew
return 7-minute journeys between
Nice Airport
and
Monaco by 6-seat Airbus H130 helicopters operated by
Blade. The flight normally costs 195 Euros per
person or 750 Euros for the whole helicopter.
Next year’s APG World Connect will take 23-25
October 2024 at the Westin Dragonara Resort in Malta. Before that, APG will head to Kuala Lumpur for the AGM and
Asia Pacific regional training conference.
