Louis Vuitton launches largest India flagship in Mumbai

Luxury clothing and accessories brand Louis Vuitton has opened its largest store in India to date in the recently opened Jio World Plaza mall in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex. The 7,365 square foot store brings Louis Vuitton’s Mumbai store count to two and India-wide store count to four.

“Louis Vuitton opens new flagship store in Mumbai at Jio World Plaza Mall– largest international retail store in India,” announced Louis Vuitton’s human resources executive Anoushka Sharma on Linkedin. “It’s been absolutely incredible and in constant admiration to have been a part of this milestone with Louis Vuitton.”

The new flagship store’s interior was conceptualised by designer and architect Rooshad Shroff, who first used his design at Louis Vuitton’s Paris flagship store at the Place Vendôme in France, India Retailing reported. Louis Vuitton first leased the space in Jio World Plaza from Reliance Industries in September this year and its contract runs for 9.5 years with a starting monthly rent of Rs 40.5 lakh, the Hindustan Times reported.

Louis Vuitton first entered the Indian market in 2003 and opened its first brick-and-mortar store in the country in New Delhi at the Oberoi Hotel. However, the flagship store later shut down and the brand now counts four stores in India comprising its new Mumbai store, its store at Mumbai’s Hotel Taj Mahal Palace, in New Delhi’s DLF Emporio, and in Bengaluru’s UB City Mall, according to the brand’s website.
