Indian exporters see over 80 percent business growth during BFCM events on Amazon

Indian exporters witnessed an 80 percent business growth compared to business as usual during Amazon’s Black Friday and Cyber Monday (BFCM) shopping events held globally between November 17-27.

Amazon claimed that the BFCM 2023 shopping event provided a spike in business for thousands of exporters with over 25 percent growth compared to the same period last year.

Exporters from tier 2 and tier 3 cities saw strong year-on-year growth during this period with sellers in Karur, Junagadh, Erode, and Jaipur leading the way.

The11-day sale period saw strong demand for Indian products from global customers with North America, Europe and Middle East driving highest sales.

Commenting on the sale events, Bhupen Wakankar, director global trade at Amazon India in a statement said, “We are thrilled to see the continued success of Indian exporters in global shopping events on Amazon. It’s a testament to growing adoption of ecommerce exports and Amazon Global Selling amongst Indian entrepreneurs. Our focus remains on enabling businesses of all sizes across India to leverage Amazon’s logistics and infrastructure to cater to customers across the world.”

“We are humbled to play a role in taking their ‘Made in India’ products global as we continue to work towards our pledge of enabling $20 billion in cumulative exports from India by 2025,” he added.

Amazon India had launched the global selling initiative in 2015 to help Indian exporters sell their products to Amazon customers across the globe through its marketplaces worldwide.
