The name of Marcus Harris is also among the strong contenders to replace Warner in the Test. Harris has played 14 Tests for Australia, in which he has opened 12 matches. Harris is out of the team since 2021. During this period, he has performed well as an opener in Sheffield Shield.

cameron bancroft
Cameron Bancroft did not play any Test after the ball tampering case. He played the first 10 tests of the ball tampering case and opened in all of them. Bancroft has scored the most runs in Australia’s domestic first class cricket tournament Sheffield Shield in 2023/24.

matt renshaw
Renshaw is being seen as an alternative to Warner. Renshaw has played 14 Test matches for Australia, including 9 appearances. During this period one century and 2 wickets were taken. Renshaw has performed well in the Sheffield Shield this year.
