Sri Lanka defeated Zimbabwe by 2 wickets in a thrilling match. After losing 4 wickets for 53 runs, the team lost 8 wickets for 172 runs. The team needed 37 runs. Here Talenders posted 39 runs not out for the 9th wicket and gave victory to Sri Lanka.

Zenithanage, playing only his second match for Sri Lanka, was the player of the match. He scored 95 runs on 127 balls. With the win in the second match, Sri Lanka has taken a 1-0 lead in the series. After the fall of the second wicket, Captain Irwin took the fourth wicket for Milton Shumba along with Srinivasan for 53 runs. Shubha was out after scoring 26 runs. After him, Alexander Raja also returned to the left wing with only one run left.

Irwin again completed his fifty and added 67 runs with Ryan Burl. Irwin was out after scoring 82 runs but the team came close to 200 runs. At the time of his wicket the team’s score was 182/5.

In the second fortified match, Sri Lanka has taken a 1-0 lead in the series with 3 wins. The third and last model will be played on January 11 in Boston itself.
