Left-handed Democratic batsman Shimron Hetmyer has not got a place in the West-based T-20 squad. Cricket West announced the tour of Australia for the white ball squad on Thursday morning. Former captain Jason Holder and Stockholm’s Kyle Mayers have returned to the T20 team.

Many new players were also included in the squad. The Telemaths series is underway in Australia and the West Indies. The Test series will start from January 17, where further T20 series will be proposed in February.

Jason Holder will not play Test
West Indies’ tour of Australia will begin with a Test. The first match between the two teams will be played in Adelaide on 17 January. The West Indies team has reached Test Australia and is currently playing a warm-up match against Cricket Australia XI.

Jason Holder was not included in the Test squad. He did not make himself available for testing for the tour as the franchise is involved in his race. The test team will be led by scientist Craig Brathwaite. Alzarri Joseph, Tevin Imlak, Gudakesh Moti and Alik Athanaz are the only 4 players in the team, who will also play the limited overs series.

Kyle Mayers and Jason Holder did not show interest in the Test team for the franchise league. With both players tested, the Valardi team also did not get a place. T20 team players Brandon King and Sherfan Rutherford also joined the franchise ahead of the series with a view to getting involved in the tournament.

Hop working on behalf of the variety team
Will take charge of the permanent team of West Indies in Australia. The squad also includes uncapped Teddy Bishop and Tevin Imlak, who may get a chance. All-rounder Justin Greaves and Kavem Hodge along with leg spinner Hayden Walsh Jr. have also returned to the field team.

Reason for England’s poor form against Hetmyer
Shimron Hetmyer was recently a part of the team in the home series against England. Then he was able to score 32, 0 and 12 runs in 3 matches, whereas in 2 T20s, only 3 runs were scored from his bat. He was sitting on the bench in the 3rd T20 of the series. Due to poor form, he did not even get a place in the Australia tour team.

The series will be held in February
The first Test between West Indies and Australia will be played from 17 January and the second Test from 25 January. The Edwards series will begin in February. The company will go on 2, 4 and 6 February. Immediately after this, the 3rd collection of T20 series will be held on 9th, 11th and 13th February.
