Australia’s star cricketer Steve Smith was seen among the football players on Thursday along with Serbia’s tennis legend Novak Djokovic. The Australian Open 2024 began earlier during a charity match at the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne Park, in which Smith showed his tennis prowess.

24-time Grand Slam champion Djokovic tried his hand at cricket. In this bachelor event, he was seen batting on the tennis court itself. This video has been shared by the television taxi handle of the Australian Open, in which Djokovic is seen joining the football players on the tennis court.

Australian Open will start from January 14
The Australian Open stable season begins on January 14. Its final will be played on 28 January. Around 200 players (men’s and women’s) participate in the tournament.

First player to win 24 Grand Slams in the Open Era
Djokovic is the first player in the Open Era to win 24 Grand Slams. He recorded it in his own name at the US Open in September this year. Djokovic had earlier reached the finals of the biggest Grand Slams (Men’s and Women’s singles) against Serena Williams (23 Grand Slams). Margaret Court also has a total of 24 Grand Slam cricketers, but 13 of them were inaugurated before the era named after her.

History of Australian Open
The Australian Open is the first Grand Slam of the year. The Low Tennis Association of Australia started this tournament in 1905, which was first called the Australian Championships. The lone Tennis Association of Australia later became Tennis Association Australia. After this the Australian Championship was named Australian Open. Since 1969, this tennis tournament has been officially named the Australian Open.
