The pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Stars had to face defeat in the final of Malaysia Open. In the 3-game final, both of them defeated China’s Wang-Liang pair by 9-21, 21-18, 21-17.

Satwik-Chirag had to be satisfied with the silver medal but they also became the first Indian pair to win a silver medal in Malaysia Open. Before this, no Indian had been able to reach the finals of any category.

In the third game, Satwik-Chirag had taken a lead of 7-2 at one point, but the leader pair made a comeback and made the score 16-14 in their favour. Fox Sharing maintained its lead and won Nobel Gold in the third game by a margin of 21-17.
