Karnataka batsman Prakhar Chaudhary played an inning of 404 runs against Mumbai in the final of Kutaj Bihar Trophy. He has become the first player to score 400+ runs in this Under-19 cricket tournament.

The biggest match of Prakhar’s innings at the KSCA Nevel Stadium in Shivamogga was a draw and Karnataka won the trophy with a lead of 510 runs in the first innings. Kutz Bihar Trophy is India’s first-class domestic tournament for under-19 players.

Prakhar planted 46 Russel plants during the innings.
Prakhar started the innings and entered the preparation till declaring the innings. He faced 638 balls in the innings and scored 46 runs and three wickets. Before scoring on the basis of his innings, he scored 890 runs at the loss of 8 wickets in 223 overs.

Rahul Gandhi’s son Samit scored 22 runs
In the match, Samit Dravid, son of Indian cricket team head coach Rahul Dravid, also scored 22 runs in 46 balls while batting at number 5. Samit also took two wickets.

Team’s Harshil Dharmani was the second centurion of the innings, scoring 169 runs in 228 balls with the help of 19 fours and 5 sixes. Prakhar took the second wicket adding 290 runs with him.

Dravid’s two sons are professional players
Dravid has two sons and both are playing professional cricket. Son Samit, who turned 18 earlier this year, played for Tatoo in the Vinoo Mankad Trophy. On the other hand, his younger son Anvay is the captain of Karnataka Under-14 team.

After electing to field first, the corners were on the backfoot as finalists Ayush Mhatre’s 145 helped Mumbai score 380 in the first innings.

However, when Prakhar Chaudhary came on the field, Karnataka came in a strong position. He created a distinct identity for himself by scoring 404 runs. On the strength of their innings, Karnataka took a huge lead of 510 in the first innings and soon after declaring the innings on the fourth day, both the teams decided to agree on a draw. By taking the first innings lead, Kumkum Bihar became trophy champions in Karnataka this season.
