The International Cricket Council (ICC) has banned Bangladeshi player Nasir Hussain for 2 years. Not only this, he has also been given a ticket for 6 months.
32-year-old Nasir Hussain was accused by the Council of violating the Anti-Corruption Code in 2023, which was found true. After that Nasir made three allegations. Now they will leave the ban by 7 April 2025.
Why was the ban imposed?
Bangladeshi Nasir was consecrated by some unknown person. For this, his special demand was also made. Hussain neither informed this to the board nor to the anti-corruption officer. Not only that, those officers were not supported even in the investigation.
Nasir Hussain played his last international match (WDI) on 25 January 2018 against India.
These three charges were accepted
- Received a gift of iPhone, but was not told about it Nasir had found an iPhone worth more than US$750, but he did not immediately inform the anti-corruption officer and revealed it later. This is a violation of Instruction 2.4.3 of the Code.
- Details of Anti Corruption Officer not found Nasir contacted the anti-corruption officer in any way, but was not informed about his departure. They also found evidence of accepting a commitment for corruption-related activity and not disclosing it to the proponent.
- Did not cooperate in investigation Nasser declared it unsuccessful or unacceptable without any solid reason. There is a flaw in the information given by the investigating officer, which is in violation of Statement 2.4.6 and Statement 4.3 of the Code.

Nasir Hussain made 115 groups for all batsmen for Bangladesh between 2011 and 2018 and also scored 2695 runs. They participate in the domestic Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League as Prime Bank Cricket Club.
