The West Indies team has not won a Test series in Australia since 1979.

Australia’s first test against West Indies was all out for 188 runs. Scotland’s first day team in Adelaide moved to Manchester in the third session itself. Australia captain Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood took 4 wickets each.

For the West Indies team, Kemar Roach and Shamar Joseph took the 10th wicket for 55 runs. Kirk McKenzie scored the highest score of 50 runs.

West Indies lost 3 wickets in the first session
The first batting technicians played the Tosque explosive at the Adelaide Oval stadium in Australia. West Indies had a bad start and the team lost the wicket of Tejnarine Chanderpaul at the score of 14 runs. He could score only 6 runs.

After Chanderpal, Captain Kraigg Brathwaite and Alec Athanaz also went back after scoring 13 runs each. For Australia, Cummins took 2 wickets and Hazlewood took one wicket. By the end of the first session, the team scored 64 runs for 3 wickets.

In the second session, Kirk McKenzie took West Indies’ score past 100 runs. He was out after scoring 50 runs in 94 balls. Before him, Kavem Hodge was also back on 12 runs. McKenzie’s wicket took the team’s score to 107/5.

After 5 wickets, West Indies scored 26 runs and lost the next 4 wickets. Within no time the team’s score became 9 wickets for 133 runs. Both Cummins and Hazlewood got 4-4 wickets from Australia.

Kirk McKenzie scored the highest 50 runs from West Indies.

Last wicket went for 55 runs
After losing 9 wickets for 133 runs, Kemar Roach and Shamar Joseph played the innings for West Indies. Both of them crossed the team score of 150 runs. Both of them finished the second session by batting. Till the tea session, the team scored 177 runs at the loss of 9 wickets.

After the end of the second session, the team could bat only 19 balls. On the first ball of the 63rd over, Joseph trapped Nathan Lyle LBW and the West Indies team was all out. The team scored 188 runs. Mitchell Starc also got one wicket from Australia.

The first match of the 2-Test series is being played in Adelaide. The second competition will be held in Brisbane from January 25. There will be 3 competitive and 3 T20 series between the two.
