Zimbabwe won the second T20 match by scoring 20 runs in the 20th over.
Zimbabwe defeated Sri Lanka by 4 wickets in a thrilling T20 on Tuesday. The team needed 20 runs in the last over. Here Luke Jongwe and Clive Madane scored only 5 runs in 24 balls and gave victory to Zimbabwe. Angelo Mathews from Sri Lanka was stranded in the last over.
With the win in the second T20, Zimbabwe leveled the 3-match series at 1-1. The first T-20 was won by England by 3 wickets. The third and last match was played in Boston on 18 January.
England lost 4 wickets for 27 runs
Zimbabwe displayed task bowling techniques at the R Premadasa Stadium. Batting first, England scored 27 runs and lost 4 wickets. Pathum Nissanka 1, Kusal Mendis 4 and Shatak Samaravikram were out after scoring only 16 runs. Kusal Perera could not even open an account.
Engine scored 27 runs after losing 4 wickets in the beginning.
Aslanka-Mathews scored century Raj Bhavan
After losing the first 4 wickets early, Charit Asanka along with Angelo Mathews got the engine going. Both of them scored century national championship and took the team beyond 100 runs. Asalanka was out for 69 runs on 39 balls and Richmond was left with 118 runs left between the two.
Mathews shared beyond 160
After Aslanka, former captain Dasun Shanaka was also left on 9 runs. Mathews still held on, completed his fifty and took the team’s score to 173 runs. He remained not out after scoring 66 runs in 51 balls. Captain Wanindu Hasaranga hit a ball but could not open the account.
Blessing Muzarabani and Luke Jongwe took 2-2 wickets for Zimbabwe. Richard Ngarwa and Wellington Masakadza got one success each.
Zimbabwe got a great start
Zimbabwe, chasing the strike of 174 runs, lost the first wicket in the fourth over itself. But from here Craig Irwin and Brian Bennett gave Nagpur a total of 74 runs. Bennett was out after scoring 25 runs in the 13th over and there was a grand slam combination from both the teams.
Irwin’s fifty, the team lost wickets continuously
After Bennett, Zimbabwe lost wickets continuously. Captain Alexander Raja 8, Shaun Williams 1 and Ryan Burl 13 were all run out. Irwin completed his fifty and brought the team closer to victory but he too was out after scoring 70 runs. The team scored 143 runs and lost 6 wickets in 17.4 overs.

Zimbabwe needed 31 runs from the last 14 balls. Here Luke Jongwe and Trailer Clive Madane were at the crease. Both scored 11 runs on 8 balls and the team needed 20 runs in the last over. Angelo Mathews was the last overall revolutionary from Sri Lanka.

Luke Jongwe received the Player of the Match award for taking 2 wickets and scoring 25 runs in 12 balls. After the match, he said that he is working extensively to make Mathews a role model. Now against Mathews, he led his team to victory in the last over.
