Reach paid off on West Indies’ reach in just the second Adelaide Test. The team scored 283 runs by getting all out in the first innings of Australia but also lost 6 wickets in the second innings. By the end of the day’s play, the team could score only 73 runs and they were still behind by 22 runs.

On the second day, Travis Head scored a century from Australia. Shamar Joseph, playing his debut match for West Indies, took 5 wickets. Josh Hazlewood has taken 4 wickets from Australia in the second innings. Plaza Joshua da Silva remained not out for the West Indies, leading the team’s second innings on the third day.

Australia lost wickets rapidly in the first session
On the second day, Usman Khawaja and Cameron Green led Australia’s first innings. Both took the team’s score to 59/2. By the end of the first session, the team scored 144 runs for 5 wickets. Khawaja was out after scoring 45, Green 14 and Mitchell Marsh only 5 runs.

Hades said century in the second session
Batting at number 5, Travis Heads took over Australia. But Alex Carey (15) and Mitchell Starc (10) were out early in front of him. Hades ran fast and completed his century. By the end of the session the heads also came out. He played an inning of 119 runs. Australia’s score ended the session at 260 runs for the loss of 8 wickets.

Third session all out in Australia
After the start of the third session, Australia could only add 23 runs to their score and the team lost both its wickets. Nathan Lyon was out after scoring 24 runs and Pat Cummins after scoring 12 runs. Hazlewood remained not out. The team scored 283 runs, West Indies had scored 188 runs in the first innings, so Australia got a lead of 95 runs.

Shamar Joseph, playing his debut match for West Indies, took 5 wickets. Justin Greaves and Kemar Roach got 2 wickets each, while Alzarri Joseph also took one wicket.

West Indies lost 4 wickets for 19 runs
Australia’s aggressive batting line-up also had a poor start against West Indies at 283 runs. The team lost 3 wickets for 7 runs in the second innings. Tejnarayan Chanderpal and Alik Athanaz could not even open the account. Captain Kraigg Brathwaite missed one run left wing.

After early setbacks, West Cavem also lost the wicket of Hodge. He was out after scoring 3 runs in 12 balls. Josh Hazlewood took the first four wickets.

The session ended with the wicket of Greaves.
Kirk McKenzie, who scored a fifty in the first innings, along with Justin Greaves tried to give West Indies an outlook. But McKenzie became the victim of Cameron Green with 26 runs left. The team scored 40 runs on the 5th wicket.

Greaves opened the innings with wicketkeeper Joshua da Silva. Both were ticking, then Greaves was declared LBW on the fifth ball of the 23rd over. Greaves was out for 24 and the second day’s play was over.

West Indies scored 73 runs for 6 wickets and the team is still 22 runs behind the first innings score. The target was given to Team Australia only after scoring 22 runs. The third day’s play will start at 5:00 am Indian time.

Waste all out on first day

Australia’s first test against West Indies was all out for 188 runs. Scotland’s first day team in Adelaide moved to Manchester in the third session itself.
