Australia defeated West Indies by 10 wickets on the third day in Adelaide Test. In the first Test, on the third day itself, in the first session, the Kangaroos scored 120 runs in the second innings of the West Indies. Australia got a lead of 26 runs due to a lead of 95 runs in the first innings. The team completely broke in the 7th over itself.
Australia’s Josh Hazlewood took 4 wickets in the first innings and 5 wickets in the second innings. Travis Head, who scored 119 runs in the first innings, was the player of the match.
Joseph-Roach defeated Windies from the beginning of the innings
West Indies continued their innings on the third day with a score of 73/6. Alzarri Joseph came in along with Joshua da Silva who remained not out on the second day. Da Silva was out after scoring 18 runs. After him Alzarri also scored 16 runs. Mitchell Starc took both the wickets.
Gudakesh Moti also scored only 3 runs and West Indies scored 94 runs for 3 wickets. The team was still one run behind Australia’s lead. Here Kemar Roach and opening player Shamar Joseph kept the team beyond 100 runs. Joseph was out with 15 runs left out and Richmond was left out for 26 runs between the two. Roach remained not out with 11 runs left.
Mitchell Starc took 2 wickets in the second innings. They both got wickets in the third day’s play.
Hazlewood took 5 wickets
Hazlewood, who took 4 wickets in the first innings, got 5 wickets in the second innings. Apart from them, Mitchell Starc and Nathan Lyon got 2-2 wickets. Cameron Green had a breakthrough.
West Indies could score only 120 runs in 35.2 overs. The team had scored 188 runs in the first innings, while Australia had scored 283 runs in the first innings. Therefore the Kangaroo team scored 26 runs in the second innings.
Khawaja becomes home hearted
Australia’s opener Usman Khawaja got injured while chasing the strike of 26 runs. The second ball of the 7th over was bowled by Shamar Joseph. Khawaja went for a duck but the ball hit his opponent. There was blood in his mouth, the physio team came to examine him and he took him to 9 Run Labs Enterprises Heart Bayern.
Usman Khawaja was hit by the ball in the middle of batting in the second innings. After which she returned to the laboratory Heart Theatre.
Australia won in 40 balls
Speaker of Khawaja’s confident review Australia needed just one run to win. Marnus Labuschagne came to bat later. He took a single on his second ball and Australia took the lead in 6.4 overs i.e. 40 balls. Steve Smith remained not out after scoring 11 runs in 22 balls.
Third West batted 13 overs and Australia batted 7 overs. This means that only 20 overs of play could be played in the first session and the competition ended in less time than the intense day.
Travis Head’s century on the second day
On the second day, Travis Head scored a century from Australia. Shamar Joseph, playing his debut match for West Indies, took 5 wickets. Australia has taken a 1-0 lead in the series with the win in the first test. The second Test will be played in Brisbane from 25 January. Then 3 and 3 T-20 series will also be released between the two teams.
