Pakistan defeated New Zealand by 42 runs in the International T-20.
Pakistan saved itself from a clean sweep in the T-20 series against New Zealand. The team defeated Supermarkets by 42 runs. The team’s spinners had an important contribution in the victory, taking 6 wickets.
Batting first, Pakistan scored 134 runs for 8 wickets at Hagley Oval ground in Christchurch. After which New Zealand was all out after scoring 92 runs in 17.2 overs. Iftikhar Ahmed, who took 3 wickets, was the player of the match.
Haseeb Khan started
Pakistan won the toss in Christchurch and this time the team chose to bat first. Opener Haseebsad Khan made his debut with the team but did not even open his account. Mohammad Rizwan again added 53 runs to Raj Bhavan with Babar Azam. Babar was out after scoring 13 runs in 24 balls and Pakistan lost the second wicket in the 10th over.
Babar Azam became the victim of Ish Sodhi after scoring 13 runs in 24 balls. He made a Nagpur stand of 53 runs with Mohammad Rizwan.
Rizwan scored 38, Fakhar scored 33 runs.
The batsmen were having trouble scoring runs on the ordinary pitch of Christchurch. But Fakhar Zaman scored 33 runs in 16 balls with 4 sixes. Tim Southee sent him to Elizabeth, after which Rizwan was also out after scoring 38 runs in 38 balls.
After Fakhar, Pakistan lost wickets continuously. Mohammad Nawaz 1, Iftikhar Ahmed 5 and Royal Afridi also returned with only one run saved.
Farhan-Abbas earned beyond 130
Pakistan’s score became 7 wickets for 114 runs. From here, Sahibzada Farhan scored 19 runs and Abbas Afridi scored 14 runs on 6 balls, taking the team beyond 130 runs.
Pakistan scored 134 runs at the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs. Usama Mir remained not out with one run left. Tim Saudi, Matt Henry, Lockie Ferguson and Ish Sodhi got 2 wickets each from New Zealand.
New Zealand got off to a bad start, Rachin out after scoring one run.
The Kiwi team, which set out to chase 135 runs, had a bad start. Racine Risharvin was out with one run left. After him, Finn Allen was out after scoring 22 runs, Tim Seifert 19, Will Young 12 and Mark Chapman after scoring 1 run.

After 4 wickets for 54 runs, Glenn Phillips tried to dismiss the Kiwi team. But after scoring 26 runs, he went to hunt Royal Afridi. After that the Kiwi team could not recover. New Zealand team was out after scoring 92 runs in 17.2 overs. For Pakistan, Iftikhar Ahmed took 3 wickets for 24 runs. Mohammad Nawaz and Shaheen got 2 successes each. While Zaman Khan and Usama Mir took 1-1 wicket.
Finn Allen Player of the Series
Pakistan could not win the series in the 5th T20 but the team saved itself from a clean sweep. The series went to New Zealand 4-1. Telecom Kiwi team had won in a unique manner in the initial round of the series.
Kiwi opener Finn Allen, who scored 275 runs in 5 matches of the series, was the player of the series. She also scored a century in the third T20. New Zealand’s Tim Southee took the maximum of 10 wickets in the series.
Now New Zealand team will play against South Africa
The New Zealand team will now play a 2-Test series against South Africa at its home ground. The first competition will be played in Mount Manganui on 4 February and the second competition will be played in Hamilton on 13 February.
On the other hand, Pakistan team will not play any match till May. The England team will play a 4-T20 series against the home team. After this the T-20 World Cup will start. However, foreign players will also feature in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) in February-March.
