Brisbane Heat won the Big Bash League title after 11 years. The team won its first title in 2012–13.

Brisbane Heat won the title of the 13th season of the Big Bash League. The team played the final in Sydney on Sunday and defeated the home team Sydney Sixers by 54 runs. Bisben’s left-arm pacer Spencer Johnson, who took 4 wickets, was the player of the match.

Batting first, Bisben scored 166 runs for 8 wickets in 20 overs at the Sydney Cricket Ground. In reply, Sydney team scored 112 runs in 17.3 overs and settled for the same score.

Josh Brown made fifty
The Sixers posted the stock for the first time on Sunday. Brisbane had a poor start batting first. The team lost the wicket of Jimmy Pearson in the first over. From here Captain Nathan McSwinney along with Jos Brown made a Raj Bhavanship of 85 runs.

McSweeney was out after scoring 33 runs. Brown still held on for one more, scoring 53 and giving the team a strong start.

Brisbane’s Josh Brown scored 54 runs in the final. He had scored 140 runs in the eliminator.

Renshaw’s Akram innings kept it past 160
Matt Renshaw caught Brisbane after the initial 3-wicket delay. He made a 57-run partnership with Max Bryant. Bryant was out after scoring 29 runs in 19 balls. After him, Paul Walter was out after scoring 6 runs, while Michael Neser Rauer and Xavier Bartlett could not even open the account.

Renshaw remained till the final, scoring 40 runs on 22 balls and taking the team’s score to 166. Shaun Abbate of Sixers took 4 wickets. Steve O’Keefe and Ben Dwarshaw got 1 wicket each, while 2 batsmen were run out.

Bakri Sixers’ innings from the beginning
Sydney Sixers, who came to chase the strike of 167 runs, also had a bad start. The team lost the wicket of Daniel Hughes in the first over. He could score only 1 run. After him, Jack Edwards was out after scoring 16 runs, Josh Philip 2, Marcus Stoinis 25 and Joel Davis 15 runs. Jordan Orchestra and Ben Dwarshas could not even open the account.

Johnson took 4 wickets
After losing 7 wickets at the score of 85 runs, Shaun Abbott kept the team beyond 100 runs. But he too was out after scoring 16 runs in 11 balls. Todd Murphy contributed by scoring 8 runs. But Steve O’Keefe opened the account in front of him and the team could score only 112 runs. The innings ended 15 balls early, the team was all out. Brisbane won the final by scoring 54 runs.

Spencer Johns of Bisbane took 4 wickets. Xavier Bartlett and Mitchell Swepson got 2 wickets each, while Michael Neser and Paul Walter got one wicket each.

Brisbane won the title after 11 years
Brisbane Heat became champions of BBL for the second time. The team won its first title 11 years ago in 2012-13. Tab team defeated Parth Scorchers by 34 runs in the final. Sydney Sixers failed to win the title for the fourth time, the team remained champions in 2011, 2019 and 2020.

Parth Scorchers has won the BBL title the maximum number of times, 5 times. While Sydney Thunder, Adelaide Strikers and Melbourne Renegades remain one-time champions each. Hobart Hurricanes and Melbourne Stars have not been able to win the title till date.
