India’s star javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra recently met former Swiss tennis player Roger Federer. Olympic gold medalist and world champion Neeraj shared slogans of meeting Federer on social media on Thursday.

Tagging him in the photo, he wrote, It is a great honor to meet a sports icon, literature has been and continues to be an inspiration for people. Had a great time talking to you and hopefully we’ll get to make a film.

These days Neeraj is preparing for his upcoming competition in Joint. The meeting between the two players took place at La Reserve Eden au Lac Hotel in Zurich.

Appointment with Federer is a dream come true for me
After the meeting, Neeraj said, ‘A dream is coming true for me here in Zurich with Roger Federer. I have always admired his plots, his sporting spirit and his ability to inspire millions of people around the world. However, what inspired me most today were his books and his spontaneous presses, which made me feel very comfortable. We shared about our passions and friends in life, on and off the field, and confirmed what an amazing time we had.

Whereas 20-time Grand Slam champion Federer said, I am amazed that Neeraj has achieved something for his country with his patience and determination. Loved your appointment here in Zurich.

Neeraj is the first Indian athlete to win a medal in the Olympics.
Neeraj is the first Indian athlete to win gold medals in both Olympics and World Championships simultaneously. He won gold in the Tokyo Olympics in 2021.

Before Neeraj, Milkha Singh and PT Usha’s fourth place finish in separate Olympics was India’s best theory. He won the silver medal in the World Athletics Championship 2022 and the gold medal in 2023.
