Sensex closed at 73,057.40; Nifty closed at fresh record high

Power Grid Corporation, HDFC Bank, Axis Bank were among the major gainers, while Hero MotoCorp, Coal India, Bajaj Auto were the major losers.
In terms of sectors, banking, media, power and realty witnessed gains ranging from 0.8 to 2 per cent, while metal as well as auto and IT sectors witnessed a decline of around 1 per cent each.
Zaggle Prepaid Ocean Services rose 14% after it announced an agreement with EasyMyTrip Planners Ltd for a three-year period. They will collaborate to provide integrated travel and expense management solutions to corporate clients.
Additionally, Tourism Finance Corporation witnessed a rise of 5%, hitting the upper circuit amid reports of block deals executed over the counter. Shares of Paytm also hit upper circuit on the exchange for the third consecutive day and closed at 376.25.
Banking and financial services sectors saw significant gains, with Nifty Banks and Financial Services closing over 1% higher.
However, in the broader market, Nifty Midcap 100 and Nifty Smallcap witnessed marginal losses with 0.13% and 0.53% decline respectively.
