He said countries that are negotiating trade agreements and investment agreements with India should keep in mind that New Delhi offers them a huge market in terms of demand and business opportunities.
“I can assure you that India negotiates with impartiality, with an open mind… India also takes care of its broader and larger interest in the long run,” he said at the CII India-Europe Conclave. He said, FTAs or bilateral investment treaties, or agreements on geographical indications have to meet the criteria of being fair, equitable and balanced agreements as the level of economic development varies.
“We have to respect the very different opportunities offered by India compared to those offered by other countries,” he said, adding that India is one of the fastest growing economies in the world.
