The Thai Department of International Trade Promotion and the Gem and Jewelry Institute of Thailand travelled to India to hold a roadshow in Jaipur to promote its upcoming trade show, set to take place in Bangkok in September this year.
The GIT rallied together the Indian jewellery industry for an information session in Jaipur, the Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council announced on its website. The roadshow was followed by a fashion show where models displayed Thai jewellery on the runway.
“India has been a key market for Thailand’s gems and jewellery exports, especially the silver jewellery,” announced the GJEPC on its website. “India has also been the top visiting country for the Bangkok fair for many years, both in terms of footfalls and trade volumes. The fair is an important trade platform especially for Indian exhibitors. For an Indian buyer or importer, the fair acts as a ready-made platform to access the latest range of designs of gems and jewellery uniquely created by Thailand.”
The 68th edition of the Bangkok Gems & Jewelry Fair will run from September 6 to 10 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre and Bangkok, according to the convention’s website. The event will feature a wide array of fine jewellery and is designed to bring together Thai jewellery manufacturers and international buyers, wholesalers, and retailers to facilitate business opportunities.
The 69th edition of the convention will take place from February 21 to 25, 2024 at the same venue and the 70th edition of the event will take place in September next year. The trade shows are supported by the Thai government which facilitates international visitors availing services including complimentary accommodation and VIP lounge access among other perks.
