Sportswear and accessories brand Nike has opened a new flagship store in Bengaluru’s recently opened Phoenix Mall of Asia. The outlet adds to the brand’s presence in the metro and retails a wide selection of footwear, clothing, and accessories for men, women, and children.
“Happy to share the launch of the Nike Flagship Store at Mall of Asia,” wrote Phoenix Mall of Asia’s general manager for leasing Tanul Bheda on Linkedin. “Only mall destination for exclusive drops and all things sports in Bangalore.”
Nike now counts over 120 exclusive brand outlets in India. The brand entered the country in 1995 through a licensing deal with Sierra Industrial Enterprises then later set up its subsidiary Nike India, Outlook Business reported.
Retail and real estate business The Phoenix Mills opened a Phoenix Mall of Asia as a large-scale mall in North Bengaluru’s Hebbal. The mall first opened its doors to the public on October 20 and houses fashion and lifestyle brands from around the world including Aldo, La Vie En Rose, Beverly Hills Polo Club, and Bath & Body Works among others.
Nike first launched in 1964 under the name ‘Blue Ribbon Sports’ to retail sports wear and casual clothing. Today, the business is headquartered in Beaverton, Oregon in the US and counts over 1,032 retail stores globally as of May this year, according to Statista.
