(17/11/23) The beautiful country of Philippines should be
on every traveller’s bucket list.
Not only does the country have some of the most
stunning beaches and seascapes in the world, but the people
themselves are overflowing with genuine hospitality, speak
English, and have a love and pride for their country that will
create memories that will last a lifetime and leave you yearning
to return.
Joey Bernardino, Group DOSM, El Nido Resorts, Philippines
One of the most famous islands and tourist hot
spots in Philippines is El Nido in Palawan, an archipelago of
1,780 islands in the west of the country, known for its white
sand beaches and magnificent limestone rock formations that rise
majestically out of the clearest turquoise waters.
El Nido Resorts, a company that operates three
luxury resorts on Miniloc, Pangulasian and Lagen Islands in El
Nido, as well another on Apulit Island in Taytay, has been
promoting the area for over three decades and has won awards from
every type of publication, all over the globe.
Superlatives simply do not suffice when describing
this very special part of a country full of other beautiful places
to visit.
To learn more about El Nido Resorts, Steven Howard
of Travel News Asia sat down with Joey
Bernardino, Group Director of Sales & Marketing, at the World Travel Market
in London (WTMLDN) earlier this month.
In this interview, filmed on 8 November, Steven
asks what the company did during the challenges posed by Covid,
whether occupancy rates have returned to normal, and what changes
the resort operator is seeing in terms of demographics and target
markets.
We discuss the resorts, the easiest way to get to
them, and you will learn when the resorts will close for a major
renovation and what guests can expect as improvements once they reopen.
Steven asks whether El Nido, a very well known and
respected brand, has any plans to open hotels outside of
Philippines, what challenges the company faces, and what technology
it uses to enhance operations and the overall guest experience.
All that and much, much more in the HD video and podcast below.
