IGL plans to set up 19 CBG plants for Rs 1,200 crore – Indraprastha Gas Ltd | india business news

Betul (Goa): Indraprastha Gas Limited to set up 19 compressed biogas plant At an estimated investment of up to Rs 1,200 crore To boost feed For its expanded city gas network.
The company signed MoUs with two technology partners at the second edition of India Energy Week here on Wednesday.
The company plans to set up these plants with different capacities in Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.
IGL sells the gas as motor vehicle and cooking fuel in these states. Biogas from these 19 plants will be fed into the company’s local network.
Addressing the audience on the occasion, he praised IGL for its role in nation building.
The partnership aims to produce approximately five lakh units (million metric standard cubic metres) of biogas, equivalent to approximately 5% of IGL’s daily needs.
This project will work for the benefit of all stakeholders like municipal authorities, CGD institutions and farmers.
While municipal authorities will get rid of municipal waste, farmers will be able to dispose of agricultural waste, consumers will prefer cleaner fuel – all contributing towards a cleaner environment.
