According to PTI report, to achieve its goal of making India a $30 trillion developed economy by 2047, NITI Aayog is in the process of preparing a vision document, which will be released by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
During a program, Subramaniam said that earlier the focus was only on urban planning and not on economic planning. However, NITI Aayog has now developed economic plans for Mumbai, Surat, Varanasi and Vizag with the aim of transforming these cities.
Last year, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde had held a meeting with NITI Aayog officials to discuss the steps needed to increase the GDP of Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) to $300 billion by 2030.
Subramaniam noted that on December 11, the government sought the opinion of the country’s youth to shape its vision of making India a developed nation by 2047. So far, we have received more than 10 lakh detailed suggestions from the youth of India, which we are processing using artificial intelligence (AI), he said.
This initiative was organized in collaboration with universities and other educational institutions.
In 2023, NITI Aayog was given the task of consolidating 10 regional thematic approaches into an integrated approach for Developing India@2047. This approach covers various aspects of development, including economic growth, social progress, environmental sustainability and good governance.
