UK-based Norden Communication has partnered with C-DAC to manufacture thermal cameras in India

New Delhi: UK based Norden Communication has tied up with the state-run Center for Development and Advanced Computing to develop AI-based general purpose thermal camerasWhich are for security purposes and other industrial applications. C-DACA research and development unit under the Ministry of Electronics and IT has developed the thermal camera hardware and they have entered into a transfer of technology (TOT) agreement with Norden, where the company will also add, produce and take over some of the analytics. A statement from the company said that it is in the mass market.
Norden specializes in the manufacturing and distribution of extra-low voltage solutions.
Norden Communication, Director – India & SAARC Prashant Oberoi said the company hopes to begin shipments of “Made in India” thermal cameras within six months.
“This collaboration is an opportunity to advance surveillance technology and reflects our unwavering dedication towards national security as a part of the Make-in-India initiative,” he said.
“It will be manufactured in India. Although the location has not been decided yet, we expect shipments to begin in the next two quarters,” Oberoi said.
