Asian Games: Esha Singh-led Indian 10m air pistol women’s team clinches silver | Asian Games 2023 News

NEW DELHI: Indian teenage shooter Esha Singh led her team to a silver medal in the women’s 10m air pistol event at the Asian Games. The Indian trio, consisting of 18-year-old Esha Singh, Palak, and Divya TS, secured a total of 1731 points for their silver medal. China claimed the gold with a total of 1736 points, setting an Asian Games record, while Chinese Taipei took the bronze with a total of 1723 points.
Esha Singh and Palak also had the opportunity to compete for individual medals as they both qualified for the eight-shooter final. After the qualification round, Esha was placed fifth, and Palak was seventh, while Divya missed the cut, finishing in 10th place.

In shooting events at the Asian Games, the scores in the qualification round determine the team medallists, while the top eight scoring shooters advance to the finals to compete for individual honors.

Esha Singh’s performance at the Asian Games has been remarkable. She not only contributed to the women’s 10m air pistol team’s silver medal but also won an individual silver medal in the women’s individual 25m pistol event earlier in the week. Additionally, Esha was part of the trio, alongside Manu Bhaker and Rhythm Sangwan, that secured a gold medal in the women’s 25m pistol team event on the same day.
Esha Singh’s achievements at the Asian Games highlight her potential and the promising future of Indian shooting on the international stage.
